Whenever people learn to do anything they always seem to want to show off to see who can do it best, who can do it the longest or the quickest or the most precisely.
Even firemen, who are trained to save lives, get together every now and then for contests and demonstrations to see which team can get there fastest, connect the hoses and hit the target first, or who can push a ball across the line with the most powerful stream of water those fire engines can pump.
And spectators come from all over to watch these strange contests where hoses are connected to fire hydrants, and valves are quickly opened to release that high pressure stream which can knock a person down if they are not careful.

they can stay calm and take charge and do what needs to be done, whether there is anyone watching or not is not something worth noticing, because they are there to do a job, not to win or lose a contest, not to look good or stylish, or to worry about what the neighbors think but just to do what they need to do to put out that fire and to worry about showing off later, just like the animals in a zoo, who seem totally unconcerned that anyone else is there, and just do what they do whether in a zoo or not.
